Question Regarding XP Alignment

So, I have followed the guide regarding disk alignment with ESX problem is after I make those changes via the service console when I load XP the OS keeps getting stuck in a loop and after it formats the partition and copies the files and after the first reboot it goes right back into setup. Also what is the command in DiskPart for XP to be able to do it that way? The "Align" command is not available.
